Kathleen La Ponte McDermott established Title Lines in 1978. Before opening a Title Insurance Agency, Kathleen was a title searcher for almost 20 years working in the Union County record room. Kathleen learned the “old school” method of searching titles, abstracting and plotting from her father, James S. Rafferty, a legend in the searching vaults whose name is still mentioned in the highest regard.

Cheryl La Ponte, Title Officer and now part owner, was introduced to searching in her teens during school vacations and summer breaks. Cheryl's mother and grandfather instilled their precise methods into that early education, and Cheryl brings forth this knowledge when working with our customers.

Vicki Hewitt, Title Officer, came to Title Lines in 1979. Vicki also began her career with Title Lines as a title searcher and quickly became a most respected title reader and problem solver. She still occasions the record rooms handling the more difficult searches.

Title Lines' mark of success has been our highly trained staff and our focus on accuracy, reliability and service. We pride ourselves in the knowledge of the industry and we will carry on the tradition of teaching our staff quality searching and reading techniques in order to continue providing the superior work expected of us.
